About Unity
UNITY is presented by UNITY 706, Inc., a Georgia-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization committed to trusting in the power of the Holy Spirit to change hearts and elevate our relationships above the things in our world that tend to distract and divide.
The UNITY Men’s Breakfast was first launched in 2018 as a way to help mend a community broken by division. Things like religious denomination, political affiliation, race, neighborhood, county, school system, church membership, and countless other factors were the ground upon which divisions between people were built.
The premise of UNITY was simple—For people who follow Christ, His instructions to us should help us to rise above other worldly factors, come together with love for one another, and follow Him. In doing so, others should also be attracted to the environment created by the UNITY displayed by God’s people.
The set-up was a simple formula.
There are 5 ingredients
Ingredient 1
Start with men. Why? Because as God’s designated spiritual leaders in the home and community, men should be able to demonstrate His love for one-another and project that love in their homes, communities, churches, and workplaces. UNITY will grow to intentionally incorporate women’s events and meetings in the near future.
Ingredient 2
A neutral location that is not a church building. Why? There are people who have hang-ups about specific churches or churches in general. They all have their reasons, but for some, the building is a deal breaker. We eliminate the church building to eliminate the barrier. We plan all UNITY events in neutral spaces.
Ingredient 3
The food. Why? We think this one is obvious.
Ingredient 4
The space. People have more things in common than they realize hopes, fears, life challenges, etc. We are very intentional about creating spaces where the attendees establish trust and create safety for one another very quickly—usually more quickly than they anticipated. When trust has been established, one powerful question can pave the way to a remarkably impactful exchange that instantly transforms strangers
to family.
Ingredient 5
One simple, powerful question. We have table discussions that get to the heart of the matter instantaneously. Once men begin to understand the common journey of those around them, division evaporates and the growth of meaningful relationship begins. This one-on-one exchange connects with others and begins to create a network of UNITY across the community.
The Next Ingredient
coming together on a regular basis to continue to grow together and strengthen relationships through the Love of Christ.
